Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Librarian role based at St. Wilfred’s Group of Colleges in Panvel. The Librarian will manage day-to-day library operations, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining print and digital collections to ensure easy and equitable access to resources. The role includes supporting students and faculty with research assistance, reference services, and information literacy guidance. The Librarian will conduct library instruction sessions, orient users to library tools and databases, and develop resource guides aligned with academic programs. Additional responsibilities include implementing library policies, overseeing circulation, coordinating with academic departments, and contributing to collection development and library outreach activities.
Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Library Science and Library Management, with the ability to oversee daily operations and long-term planning.
  • Hands-on experience in Library Services and Library Instruction, including user support, reference assistance, and information literacy training.
  • Working knowledge of Metadata standards and cataloging practices for organizing print and digital resources.
  • Relevant academic qualification, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency with integrated library systems, online databases, and basic digital tools (e.g., MS Office, library automation software).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support a diverse student and faculty community.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a user-focused service orientation.
