Bangalore International Centre Launches Free Sunday Library for Kids

BENGALURU: The Bangalore International Centre (BIC) has launched a new, complimentary children’s library called ‘Around the World in 50 Sundays,’ aiming to cultivate a passion for reading among young people, The New Indian Express reported.

The library, which is free to access, is open every Sunday and targets children between 6 and 14 years old. The collection currently features approximately 900 books, with an emphasis on picture books.

According to the report, a typical Sunday session includes facilitated literary activities like storytelling and role-playing, focused on teaching social skills and empathy. While the library is now open, children must register a minimum of three visits before they are eligible to borrow books. The project is being funded by Doorbeen and the HT Parekh Foundation.
