Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an IB Library Teacher, based in Chandigarh. The Library Teacher will collaboratively plan and deliver a resource-based learning program that integrates information literacy, digital citizenship, and research skills into the IB curriculum.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a library curriculum that fosters a love for reading and inquiry-based learning.
- Teach Approaches to Learning (AtL) skills, specifically focusing on research, critical thinking, and self-management.
- Partner with coordinators to ensure the library collection supports the diverse linguistic and cultural needs of the student body.
- Curate and manage a diverse collection of print and digital resources, aligned with IB principles.
- Oversee daily library operations, including cataloging, circulation, and budget management.
- Deliver engaging storytelling and "read-aloud" sessions to foster a lifelong love of reading.
- Organize the collection to be accessible to young children (e.g., front-facing picture books, genre-based "neighborhoods").
- Maintain flexible zones for quiet reading, collaborative group work, and "maker" activities that spark curiosity.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and delivering well-structured academic resources
- Strong foundation in Education and Teaching methodologies with experience in IB curriculum preferred
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and faculty
- Experience in Training and guiding students and staff in educational and library functions
- Passion for fostering a love for books and research in school students
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Library Science, or a related field
