The National Library puts Kosovo on the European map of library institutions

The National Library of Kosovo (KLB) has secured a significant achievement, announcing it will host the Annual General Meeting of Directors of National Libraries of Southeast Europe next year in Pristina. The event, scheduled for September 28, 29, and 30, marks the first time the country will host this gathering of regional and international library leaders.
KLB Director Blerina Rogova-Gaxha highlighted the importance of the selection, stating, "The advantage of organizing this congress... is that it puts your country on the map of libraries, not only of Southeast Europe, but also of the continent." The event is expected to draw directors and representatives from the region and beyond, including participants from as far as Australia and New Zealand.
The candidacy to host the 13th meeting was approved by a majority of the Network of National Libraries of Southeast Europe, following a presentation at this year's congress in Skopje. The KLB noted that while Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina did not oppose the decision, they also did not approve it.
Discussions at the Pristina congress will focus on key professional issues, with a central topic being the use of Artificial Intelligence in library services. The KLB confirmed it has secured the necessary budget and full support from the Ministry of Culture to ensure the successful organization of the high-profile international event.
