About the Role
We are seeking a qualified librarian to join the Stock & Reader Services Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the selection, development, and promotion of book stock (print and digital) to optimize its use, utilizing analytical tools as required.
Develop and deliver reading programmes that foster readers of all ages.
Manage both print and digital collections.
Support the customer enquiry service, both in-person and digitally via the Ask A Librarian Service.
Manage collections at various branch sites across the county, working with library managers and staff to maintain collection standards.
Be involved in delivering training to staff and volunteers regarding stock standards and reading programmes.
Work Saturdays on a rota basis in Oxford Westgate Library.
Work occasionally from Support Services at Holton, Oxford, for meetings and projects.
About You
Essential Requirements/Skills:
A degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship.
Effective collaborative skills to work with colleagues across the service on shared objectives and key projects (e.g., library refurbishments, engagement activities).
Ability to inspire a love of reading and promote the positive difference libraries make.
Wider knowledge of public libraries in the UK.
A flexible, adaptable approach and the ability to travel are highly desirable.
