Green Pencil Foundation Rolls Out Eco-Friendly Libraries in Faridabad Schools

In a step towards sustainable education infrastructure, the Green Pencil Foundation has launched eco-friendly libraries in four government schools across Faridabad district. The move aims to enhance both the learning environment and environmental awareness among students in these schools.

Solar-powered lighting and other energy-efficient systems help reduce operational carbon footprint. 

Furniture made from bamboo and recycled materials underscores the sustainable ethos. 

Vertical gardens made from recycled plastic bottles collected by students help bring greenery and environmental education into the space. 

The libraries also include digital learning corners (computers / e-resources) and book-banks to widen access. 

Additional amenities such as sanitary-pad vending machines reflect attention to gender inclusion and student welfare.

According to reports, the project will directly benefit approximately 2,240 students across the four participating government schools.
